“My interest is in the future because I am going to spend the rest of my life there” ~Charles F. Kettering
What is today? Today was Friday. Today was April 29th in the year 2011. Today was the day I took the calculus final. Today was the day I had a Spanish IPA. Today was the day I learned in psychology. Today was also a VERY important day for seniors: College Decision Day. Today was the last day for seniors to choose their destination for the next year, two years, four years, or six years. Today was they day which determined their future.
I was on Facebook earlier today reading all the colleges the seniors have added on to their information. Some have decided to go to the U of M. Some have decided MIT. Some have decided UIC. I've seen a wide variety of colleges and places where people will be heading off to next year. This has made me stop to think.Where will I be next year?
What will I be deciding next year?
Will I get into the colleges I wanted to get into?
Will I make the right decision for me?
What kind of future will be laid out for me?
How is the future going to look?
All I can say at this very moment is that I'm scared. I'm scared to be a senior in a couple months. I'm scared to have been in school since the past 11 years. I'm scared for my grades. I'm scared for tests. I'm scared to let the future come.
Is it wrong to be scared? I don't think so. En mi opinion, I think that almost every student goes through the same fears that I am having now. I think that it is natural to be scared of the future, however as Marcus Aurelius said, "Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present." Thus, I shall live have to learn to live in the present and try not to worry about the future, because deep down under I know that the future will work out right towards the end.

“The only thing you live to regret are the risks you didn't take” ~Zachary Scott
I've regretted many things in the past...
I've regretted chickening out while zip-lining...
I've regretted not trying harder in certain classes...
I've regretted making certain people disappointed in me...
I've regretted in being a shy person when I was little...
I've regretted being scared of heights...
I've regretted of being embarrassed to dance in front of my cousins...
I've regretted drifting away from some friends...
I've regretted quitting piano...
I've regretted quitting dance...
I've regretted the risks I never took...
I've realized I've regretted doing so many things, that I KNOW that I want to turn this around, which is why I'm going to make a bucket list of the things I want to do before I die. If I ever lose my way in life, I know that I will have something to guide me. Sure I will still regret a few things here and there, but I'm going to try to do my best.
